In 1972, the legendary winemaker in the Napa Valley, Robert Mondavi, identified the future location of Leeuwin's vineyard as the ideal place to produce premium wines and provide early guidance to Denis and Tricia Horgan converted their cattle ranch into Leeuwin Estate.

Enjoying the first commercial classic in 1979, Leeuwin became the focus of worldwide attention when Decanter Magazine made the highest recommendation for the 1981 1981 Chardonnay Art Collection.

International awards have continued and Leeuwin now exports to 30 markets. Celebrating a combination of wine, food, art and music, Leeuwin has an award-winning restaurant, wine cellar and art gallery. The property is famous for hosting spectacular events and welcoming visitors from around the world.
